Welcome to the Dennis Flanagan Sports Scholarship Fund (DFSSF) website!
ur mission is to enhance the lives of young men and women who play sports at Somersworth High School just as Dennis did for many years. When Dennis passed away in 2002, this scholarship fund was born as a way to honor a man who gave so much to the youth of Somersworth. Coach Flanagan's memory is carried on in the many lives he touched during his 30 plus years of coaching. The DFSSF carries his memory further by continuing coach's quest to make a difference. With the help of all of you in our great community we were able to award 16 scholarships in his name in the first 6 years.
Many of us who played sports in Somersworth were privileged to learn from Coach Flanagan. It was through his coaching (and maybe a little bit of yelling) that helped his players become better, both on and off the field. For Dennis' unprecedented dedication to youth sports of Somersworth we are forever grateful.
