At Delbene Brothers, we’re following in our father’s footsteps. We moved to Marion County with our parents in 1972. Our dad was a carpenter and horse farm owner, and so we grew up helping dad in family business. As we grew up, we followed him into the construction business. Delbene Brothers, owned by Danny & Raymond Delbene, has served Marion County since 1999. Danny is the one with the Certified Residential Contractor’s license and Raymond is the construction foreman for the company. We started out building custom barns, but word spread about our quality structures and our understanding of how to keep horses safe in their own environments. Danny learned a lot about horses from his grandfather who was a race track trainer. He put that knowledge to work in building custom barns for the horse racing industry. As the barn-building business grew, one thing led to another and we found ourselves also building custom homes around north Marion County. We pride ourselves in maintaining tight control over the time it takes to complete projects. We are both on the jobs everyday overseeing everything from design to completion. We don’t have a big overhead or a large staff, and we pass on the savings and quality to our customers. We are big enough to build a whole farm but small enough to stay personal with home owners. We like the clients to have fun with their experience of building a house, and we love seeing them satisfied with the end result. After all, this house turns into their home. We help our clients with the process of building a home and give them the opportunity to bring us a print or use our architect. We work with them to choose counter tops, lighting, cabinets, plumbing, flooring & appliances from supplier showrooms. Our mission is simple: To treat you like family. I was afraid it was going to be a real hassle building a house, and while there are a lot of choices to make, Danny has made the process so painless. He’s easygoing, patient, responsive and answers all of my hundreds of questions being a first time home builder. If it’s a weekday, there is almost always someone here working and occasionally on the weekend. It is a rare occasion to have any down days (other than weekends, but hey, everyone needs a break) and when they do happen it’s usually because we are waiting for an inspection before we can move further. The house is looking great and to the stage now where the tile is going in (the entire house has tile floors). My father is an engineer and even he’s impressed with their work (engineer’s aren’t always easy to please when it comes to building things – LOL). The job site is always kept clean. I really can’t say enough good things about these guys and their crew. They are A+++ in my book.
