Larry has served as a GTI R&D Director, Energy Delivery & Utilization and President of Davis Energy Group. He has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, working extensively in building thermal performance, energy conservation in buildings, high-efficiency space conditioning systems, and codes and standards development. He has responsibility for planning, securing funding, managing, and performing on projects related to energy efficiency in space conditioning hardware and buildings.
Larry has recently worked with the Department of Energy/National Renewable Energy Laboratory – Building America program, conducting research into high efficiency equipment performance, energy efficiency measures and packages, whole home performance, and distribution systems. With California Energy Commission – Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) and Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) funding, he has led the radiant HVAC systems project, Measured Home Performance program, commercial foodservice energy savings, combined heat and power, Zero Net Energy, and residential IAQ and healthy homes projects.
David Zabrowski leads Frontier Energy’s Commercial Food Service division and is the manager of PG&E’s Food Service Technology Center (FSTC) Energy Efficiency Program. He directs the FSTC’s testing, education, and customer outreach activities; provides technical expertise and oversight for test method development and application; and provides guidance to PG&E management responsible for the FSTC program on the center’s growth and direction. During his 24-plus year tenure, David has overseen the development and maintenance of more than 40 test methods under the jurisdiction of the ASTM F26 Committee on Food Service Equipment, which forms the basis for government and utility programs that drive higher energy performance within the commercial food service industry.
David Springer manages Frontier Energy’s Building Research & Energy Consulting division, providing oversight of technical projects. David has worked on demand-side and renewables R&D projects, technology development and market transformation, mechanical design, commissioning, performance monitoring, energy standards, and emerging technology training. Since the mid-1980s, he has participated in projects to update California Title 20 and Title 24 standards. In recent years, he has become increasingly involved with zero energy projects, including U.S. DOE’s Zero Energy Homes program.
David has authored eighteen papers and articles about energy subjects and holds six patents. He is an active member of ASHRAE, serving as a voting member of TC 6.5 (Radiant Heating and Cooling) technical committee. He is also a member of the UC Davis Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Board of Advisors and of the California Technical Forum, which provides technical guidance on California’s integrated demand side management portfolio.
Rich Myhre leads Frontier Energy’s Transportation and Power division. His work ranges from strategic planning, budgeting, and team building for public-private research collaboratives to multi-disciplinary research results synthesis, stakeholder/policymaker communications, and public outreach. Clients appreciate Rich’s insights into their programs and his ability to communicate their work to diverse audiences. He blends a reporter’s inquisitiveness and writing skills with an engineer’s technical understanding and an investor’s nose for business opportunities and risk management. Rich also leads new company initiatives in grid-connected energy storage, and he oversees work in zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure.
Rich has developed technology roadmaps to guide R&D conducted by the Electric Power Research Institute, the California Energy Commission, and others. He has co-authored numerous documents, from business plans and congressional testimony to journal articles, white papers, and technical reports. He has planned and facilitated leadership retreats, technical workshops, and community meetings.
Jeremy Springer oversees the company’s overall financial position, compliance, and project budgets. He also performs systems development and project management activities. Prior to working with Frontier Energy, Jeremy spent two years with Moss Adams LLC, where he performed audit and assurance services for mid-sized government contractors, distributors, and software service providers. He led the development of several software applications which allowed clients and internal users to streamline processes and improve overall operations.
Jeremy graduated California State University, Sacramento with a B.S. in Business Administration, Accountancy.
Commercial, industrial, health care, and institutional clients benefit from Adam’s deep sector knowledge of power and steam systems, cogeneration, and manufacturing energy efficiency. For example, Adam has performed industrial energy efficiency evaluations for systems and facilities such as paper mills, biomass boilers, industrial process boiler heat recovery, water treatment and wastewater facilities, dairy and food processing production facilities, medical component production facilities, industrial compressed air systems, and injection mold/blow molding facilities. His evaluations are tailored to each client’s process needs, with a goal of meeting aggressive ROI requirements.
