Dakotah Hope Ministries is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with Native Americans in the Continental United States. Currently we are working with the Dakotah Sioux on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation in NE South Dakota. We are non-denominational in scope but hold a very conservative view of Scripture: we believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, the Incarnate Word, part of the Triune Godhead, both fully man and fully God, sinless in His life on this earth, given as a sacrifice (a propitiation) for our sins, buried and resurrected on the third day, ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us, soon to return to receive His own unto Himself. We believe the Bible to be God’s inspired divine love letter to us, truth without any mixture of error. Our founders are H. Andrew Shirley and his wife, Sandy from Central Florida. Andy has served in several Baptist churches as either pastor or associate pastor. Sandy is a retired public school teacher. They both are active in their local church in missions, music, and teaching. They are pictured above in front of a tapestry on the wall of Eagle’s Wing Baptist Church in Sisseton, SD. We work with volunteer mission teams from all over the United States each summer who come to do community outreach events, Vacation Bible School, women’s ministry, some construction projects, and church planting. We also give away water at the annual Pow Wow held around the 4th of July each year in Sisseton along with Bibles, coloring books, and Gospel tracts or pamphlets. Welcome to Dakotah Hope Ministries Welcome to Dakotah Hope Ministries Dakotah Hope Ministries was born out of the glaring need among Native Americans to have hope for the future and purpose for the present, both found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. One Native American who identifies himself as a Christian has stated that less than 4 percent of Native Americans in the United States profess to be Christian. Dakotah Hope Ministries currently ministers on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation in the NE corner of South Dakota where we partner with Eagle’s Wing Baptist Church and other Bible believing congregations to share the Good News and love of the Heavenly Father for all His children including the Dakotah Sioux.
