In 1992, Cindy opened her own law firm where she continued her insurance defense litigation as well as opening an active Family Law Practice. Cindy focused the majority of her legal attention to custody disputes and divorce related issues. Cindy firmly believes teaching communication skills to parents ultimately leads to reduced conflict and helps prevent children from being “caught in the middle” of their parent’s conflicts. Cindy remains committed to working as a Child Supervisor, where her work helps estranged parents and their children reconnect in a safe and home style setting, as a Supreme Court Certified Mediator in Circuit Civil and Family Law, Parent Coordinator, Parent Plan Facilitator, Elder Law mediator, Child/Elder supervisor and Child Custody Monitor. In addition to her legal memberships, Cindy is also a firm believer in being active in the local community and assisting our youth in becoming future leaders. Cindy has been a Teen Court Diversion Training Program Teacher, a Teen Court Too Diversion Program Training Program Teacher, a Volunteer Teen Court Judge, a volunteer Mock Trial Competition Coach, and Volunteer Mock Trial Scoring Judge. After practicing in the legal field since 1983, in 1992, I formed my own company which was, and remains, founded upon the belief that families are best served by removing and reducing conflicts that have traditionally been dealt with in the courts. Most people who use our court system in their efforts to address family issues usually end up being both unhappy and upset emotionally with both the process and the results. The services that I provide are based on years of experience backed by professionalism and common sense and are focused on positive resolution in the most cost effective manner, both emotionally and monetarily, as possible.
