Her first job as a veterinarian was at Cumberland Animal Clinic in Havana Florida, just outside of Tallahassee. Cumberland was a mixed animal practice treating horses, cows, dogs, and cats. In 1991 Dr. Goyert purchased the practice but in 2001 sold the small animal portion of the clinic and formed Cumberland Equine Services to focus on her true passion – horses. Dr. Goyert keeps busy as a sole practitioner, treating horses on farms all over North Florida and into South Georgia. In addition to her regular veterinary duties, Dr. Goyert is the Veterinary Coordinator for the International Red Hills Horse Trials, State Veterinarian at the Creek Entertainment Gretna Horse Racing Track, and examining veterinarian for local endurance Rides. Born and raised in Gadsden County Florida, Dale Weeks joined Dr. Goyert at Cumberland Equine Services in 1991 and has been her Vet Tech and faithful sidekick ever since. His duties include maintaining, inventorying and stocking the truck, driving to farm calls, preparing the medications and supplies needed for appointments, and most importantly – restraining the horses to keep Dr. Goyert safe.
