In fact, Israeli soldiers take an oath there that “Masada shall not fall again.” Like those who took to the mountain, we at Masada Bakery pledge to uphold the standards and beliefs of our forefathers. We use only the best ingredients and product only the highest quality products, even it if takes more time or effort. We promise our customers we will never give in to easier, more commercialized ways like other bakeries; it is simply not in our blood. We remain true to our heritage, much in the same way as the Zealots of Masada. All of our breads are made in the time-honored traditions of master bakers and artisans. We craft a product that we would want to serve at our table, knowing you will serve it at your table. We put over twenty years of experience as a family-owned operation into each bun, loaf and roll. Back in the early 1980s, a young restaurateur named Hezi Stein wanted to provide the best experience he could for his diners. He desperately sought the same fine Old World breads he had come to know in his home in Israel. But he could not find such a bakery in Atlanta. With no options, he opened his own bakery in 1981. Located right next to the restaurant, it provided the quality, taste and freshness he wanted. It wasn’t long before the word got out and sales grew. By 1991 the bakery had taken on a life of its own. They branched out into new breads like Whole Wheat and other natural products. They had found a niche in Atlanta that was not being served. Customers loved the new breads and demanded more options that used fresh, quality ingredients. By 1995 the majority of their business came from restaurants, hotel and catering. They moved to their current location in 2003, one that will allow for growth in the future. Today the company continues with its vision of providing superior bakery products for every family, restaurant, hotel, and caterer in Atlanta. As the largest variety baker in the Southeast, they continue to develop new products and services for their customers. As President of Masada Bakery, Koby is committed to nothing less than complete satisfaction from every customer. Overseeing operations, sales and product development, he strives to meet the needs of his customers today and tomorrow. As Controller Michael is responsible for financial aspects of the business. Knowing how critical quality ingredients are for a superior product, he balances the needs of the bakery on many levels. With years of experience, Lamar keeps his watchful eye on all areas of the bakery’s operations. He assures that our production timetables are met for our customers. As our distribution manager, Thomas works with our clients across the southeast to make sure deliveries are timely, preserving our reputation of only the finest bakery products. Alan Fishman, Business Manager Alan coordinates all aspects of customer ordering and invoicing. He makes sure that the business of the bakery is held to the same high standards as all of our baked goods. To make the best breads, bagels and pastries, we use the modern baking industry’s best equipment with a team of well-trained employees. We are constantly evaluating industry trends and upgrading to meet the needs of our customers. Our production is enhanced with a 2008 equipment upgrade to state of the art baking equipment. This will help us produce the highest quality products more efficiently. We buy all ingredients locally and our flour is milled in central Georgia so it can be delivered fresh daily. Our facility works 24/7 to meet the needs our loyal customers. From our facility we ship our products fresh throughout seven states in the southeast and southwest. We utilize tractor trailers for long range deliveries while local deliveries are made via city vans. We currently have a fleet of over 40 vehicles. We work through our distributors to serve our delicious breads and products fresh. Many of our customers enjoy our products through a retail distributor such as Sprouts Farmers Market, Sevananda, Restaurant Depot, Kroger, or Whole Foods.
