Diane Goukler started her court reporting career in Cleveland, Ohio in 1972. She won numerous state of Ohio speed championship contests, is a Registered Professional Reporter and holds a Certificate of Merit in the field of court reporting. Living and working in Fort Myers since 1987 and enjoying a wonderful career that provides a constant, and yes, humbling, opportunity to learn new things and work with terrific people. Jennifer was born and raised in Southwest Florida and has lived in Fort Myers since 1974. After graduating high school locally in 1986, she attended the Bay Area Academy of Business in Tampa, Florida to become a court reporter. In 1988, Jennifer moved back to Fort Myers and started her career with Associated Reporters and obtained her Registered Professional Reporter certification. After working with Associated Reporters for 14 years, Jennifer began working with Von Ahn Associates in 2004, during which time she obtained her Florida Professional Reporter certification. Jennifer thoroughly enjoys court reporting and feels blessed to be part of such a wonderful legal community and court reporting family. Outside of working, Jennifer has been involved for the past 25 years in raising funds for victims of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), and mostly enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Maureen was born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from McCormick Junior College in March 1977 with an Associate’s Degree. Maureen obtained her CSR in June of 1977 and worked in Downtown Chicago as a freelance reporter. Maureen started her own firm with her partner in November of 1982. Maureen and her husband of almost 40 years moved to Cape Coral with their daughter in July of 1989. She worked as a freelance reporter in such fields as maritime law, asbestos, unions and the steel industry for 13 years. Maureen had the contract for J&L Steel and that union for over 13 years. Probably the medical work has been her most favorite work and traveling to different hospitals in both Chicago and Florida. Maureen joined the Von Ahn team in 2002 and has loved this group of people. What a great field that after 40 years you still meet new people and learn new information every day. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest people and still love my job. Marianne was raised in Southwest Florida, attending local schools. In 1979 she graduated from Southwest School of Business and began working as a Deputy Official Court Reporter, 20th Judicial Circuit. Having previously received the Registered Professional Reporter certificate, in 1997 Marianne became the first in Lee County to obtain the Certified Realtime Reporter designation. She joined Von Ahn Associates in 2004, and has loved being part of this fantastic group of women. In her spare time she enjoys golf, music, and spending time playing with the cutest kitten ever born, Ms. Billie Holiday. Upon graduating from The Cittone Institute School of Court Reporting in South Jersey, Maggie went to work for a firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania reporting special education due process hearings for the State of Pennsylvania and remained there until she moved to Estero, Florida in 2006. She then joined Von Ahn and has been with us ever since. Maggie keeps trying to retire, but she loves that every day is different and interesting that she hasn’t been able to give it up yet. After graduating from Mercer University with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communications, Lisa enrolled in Broward School of Business and Court Reporting. During her years as a court reporter, Lisa became a Certified Reporting Instructor and taught locally in Fort Myers at Southwest Florida College of Business. She also blended court reporting with her Medical Transcription business, q.day Transcription, using her steno machine to produce medical records quickly and accurately. She now enjoys working solely as a court reporter and loves the versatility court reporting has given her over the years. Outside of court reporting, Lisa is a trained Doula, avid Crossfitter and frequent traveler to Minot, North Dakota to visit her two amazing grandchildren, Brooke and Ben! Tina was born in Hawaii. She spent part of her childhood in Indiana and Florida. Prior to making Southwest Florida her home, she lived in Chicago where she attended school, and then started her career in court reporting in 1985. In 1989, Tina became an owner and operator of DiCharia & Associates Court Reporting for over 20 years, and sold the business in 2008. For the last seven years, Tina has been working for Von Ahn Associates part-time and also holds a real estate license and sells real estate on Sanibel Island, Florida. She has extensive experience in community involvement. She has been on the Board of Directors for P.O.L.O. Club of Lee County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the YMCA, and currently on one of the United Way Allocations Team, and three-year term Board of Director for the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Realtors Association. Tina is married to Gus Simmons, Esquire, who is a local attorney, and they met through work. Tina has one daughter in college at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, who is her pride and joy. working in a local agency that has been serving the Twentieth Judicial Circuit legal community for four decades. Lisa and her husband, Kim, a school teacher, dedicate a lot of their free time to Vineyard Community Church, their home church for 20 years, doing outreach for the Fort Myers/Cape Coral communities. Dawn was born and raised in Port Charlotte, Florida. In 1990 she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami in music education (Go ‘Canes!) hoping to become a high school band director. After being a substitute teacher for a few years, she found a brochure for Southwest Florida College of Business and fell into the career of court reporting and very unexpectedly found her passion. After getting her degree, she worked at an agency in Punta Gorda for 19 years and then began working with Von Ahn Associates in 2015. She loves learning something new in every deposition and enjoys the challenge of researching and learning new words. In her free time, Dawn plays the piano and directs the choir at her church. She likes attending musical theater, traveling, researching her family history, and spending time with her cats.
