In August of 2006 I started my electrical career in Miami. The company I joined as an apprentice was a medium sized company at the time. They had open construction contracts with the University of Miami, Florida International University, and a few commercial properties. The electricians that I worked with were home grown Americans. A couple were Master electricians, most were Journeymen. I learned from some of the very best, good old fashioned electricians who took pride in their work. They never cut corners or used materials that were sub par. They taught me what was right and proper and how to complete work that was not only safe and efficient but pleasing to the eye.
I want you as my potential client to recognize something very important. My training and knowledge was gained in the first world and by first world mentors. Why is this important? Well, across the nation and especially here in South Florida we have a pandemic of unlicensed and inadequately trained electricians offering their services. Most will claim decades of experience and even similarity of work performed in their home countries. This is unfortunately not true. I have performed work in another country as a favor for family and I have seen for myself the vast difference of quality and safety standards. I have been called out to many locations over the years to repair mistakes, poor and unsafe workmanship. Every time I did, I heard the same story from my customers. It was always a handyman or the “electrician” of a specialty company – like kitchen re-modelers.
In 2009 and 2010 I spent some time in Costa Rica and experienced the construction industry in a third world country. Even in such a beautiful and safe country as Costa Rica, the lack of standards in the electrical field and availability of decent electrical products left me shocked – no pun intended. Would you believe there are no electrical inspections or codes to follow? I wondered, if it was that lax there, how much worse was it in other countries that were far poorer. Yet, here in South Florida, how many electricians and other trades offer services whose owners and/or personnel were trained in these same countries? These same workers may not own the proper license to operate in our state. It is a risk I beg you not to take. I always tell my customers, there are two trades that you should never take chances on, plumbing and electrical.

"I have used Cowley Electric in my home two times. They are friendly, responsive, punctual, and provide superb service. The owner, Adriel, has helped us two times and I highly recommend him. During his first visit, he found and fixed a major hazard that may have saved my family from a devastating fire. If you are looking for an electrician, stop your search and call Cowley Electric."
"I wanted to commend your company and Adriel who installed two grounding rods today. He is an excellent representative for your company. He works quickly and professionally and is very cordial. We will gladly call Cowley Electric for any other electrical jobs we may need."
"A big thank you to Adriel whom installed a GFI outlet for us in our garage. He also added two more circuits and outlets for our equipment that we keep in there. He was very professional and explained everything clearly. Your rates are extremely reasonable and we will most definitely be recommending your company!"
