Cove Church began in the home of John Tanner.  He and his wife Kathy moved to Huntsville with a dream to plant a church that was different.  Those few families who gathered together in 1996 grew and in 1997 began meeting in Hampton Cove Elementary School.  The ministry model thrived and lives were being changed.  Before they knew it Cove Church was in need of its own facility.  And in 2001, Cove Church moved into its current location. Along the way John sought God’s guidance on keeping to the original vision of Cove Church, which was to focus on authenticity and not religiosity and always provide a place for those who are new to the faith. The method for discipleship was a new one at that time…small groups.  Small Groups have always been at the heart of Cove Church.  These groups breed honest conversations and relational ministry, two essentials of discipleship. In 2006, Cove Church built The Well, which is primarily a Student Ministry facility, but also houses the staff offices.  This building has given the Students at Cove a home and provided a baptistery for dozens of people to experience the step of faith know as baptism. We're all a work in progress. Take the step. As Florida natives, Lori and her husband Jason have embraced raising their family ‘up north’ in ‘the south’. Watching one, or all three, of their children kicking, throwing, or shooting a ball of some sort is usually what you can find them doing on any given day. Lori is what Cove likes to call ‘The Tech Chick’, which really just means she likes to geek out on our website or our churches’ online community, better known as The Hub. Campus Pastor, Ryan Epps and his team welcome you to the unique and casual atmosphere at our Chase Campus. We invite you to our worship services featuring vibrant music, compelling live teaching, and wonderful programs for kids and students.  The Chase campus has its own distinct flavor, but Cove is one church in two locations. We're currently seeking qualified applicants for the following position(s): We are currently seeking an individual to fill the role as a part time receptionist at Cove Church.  This position will require answering phones, greeting guests, and being a happy face to welcome people to the office.  There will be other jobs as assigned. Cove is committed to helping those who need even life's basics. Our quarterly drive is to "fill the truck" with necessities so we can provide for those in need throughout the community. PB&J, mac and cheese, canned corn and other veggies, cereal, canned fruit, canned soups, spaghetti and sauce, and any other food items your family enjoys. In addition, diapers and in-date formula are appreciated. They also give toiletries to families in need- shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, dish soap, laundry detergent etc. In partnership with Until They Know ministry, the Cove church team will travel to Puerto Plata, a province in the northwestern part of the DR, near the Haitian border. The team will distribute solar lanterns to villagers and talk to them about the Light of the world named Jesus. There will also be light medical opportunities. We believe Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; he is both fully human and fully God. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life and embodies the truth about God and the Truth of God. Jesus willingly died on the cross to demonstrate God’s love for sinful humans and to provide salvation for all humanity. His sacrifice in our place provides all humans the means to be reconnected with their loving Creator. We believe in the physical resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Jesus ascended into heaven, where He rules as our Lord (absolute authority) and advocate. Jesus will return to earth in the future to establish God’s perfect peace and justice for all time. We believe the Church (also known as the Body or Bride of Christ in scripture) is a spiritual organism made up of all those in a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who are called to live in fellowship and worship together. We believe in the priesthood of all believers: everyone in relationship with Christ is gifted, empowered and called to serve within God’s mission to reach the world.
