Coral Ridge Yacht Club was established in 1947 and for 70 years has been a private, waterfront yacht club located along Florida's famed Gold Coast in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. See why Coral Ridge Yacht Club is “the best kept secret in town!” Coral Ridge Yacht Club was originally chartered in October 1947 with the clubhouse officially opening to its members in October 1949. Over the years, property surrounding the original site was purchased to allow for future expansion. In fact, club membership quickly outgrew the original facility, and a new, larger clubhouse was constructed in 1959 culminating in a grand re-opening on New Year's Eve of that year. In 1968, Coral Ridge Yacht Club was honored with being the first east coast club to be admitted to the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs (FCYC). The Beatles at Coral Ridge Yacht Club circa 1964! The Beatles being whisked off for an afternoon’s cruise aboard the Southern Trail, a 93-foot yacht with a full crew, owned by the sofa-bed magnate Bernard Castro, who was a member of the Coral Ridge Yacht Club from 1960 until his death in 1991.
