Consolidated Minerals, Inc. (CMI) was founded in Florida by F. Browne Gregg, a decorated WWII pilot who received the Silver Star for his valorous actions during combat over Germany in 1945. The company's origins trace back to Gregg’s acquisition of Florida Crushed Stone Company in 1971 and have evolved into a conglomerate with diverse operations, specializing in mining and producing aggregates. CMI has been at the forefront of industry innovation, particularly noted for constructing the world’s first integrated plant combining a cement facility, power generation unit, and lime production plant. This $250 million co-generation installation was pioneering in utilizing waste materials, steam, and heat for substantial energy savings and recycling efficiencies. Throughout its history, CMI has grown through strategic acquisitions such as entering into phosphate mining and animal feed supplements production in 1987. After selling most of the Florida Crushed Stone operations to CSR America in 2000, Gregg merged remaining activities with his other ventures, forming the foundation for Consolidated Minerals, Inc., which continues thriving today. CMI’s offerings include CL Industries, renowned as the largest exposed aggregate pool finishes producer in the U.S., along with a range of deck coatings and building materials serving both commercial and residential markets.
