Concert on the Green was established in 1986 with the goal of supporting the arts within Clay County. The first concert was performed the following year in 1987 and has since established a commitment to artistic and educational excellence for community members. Each year has marked an important milestone in our history giving scholarships to deserving students in the areas of art and music. It has been further developed during over the years to become the grand event that it is today. There is also a Poster Competition that gives young artists the platform to express their vision of what the concert is about. The artist put their vision to image of what is iconic about our annual event. The Competition is one way for them showcase their talent and work. The winning poster art is used in marketing materials for the concert day and the framed artwork is presented to the major sponsor of the event in order to be displayed in their business. The winners of the Concerto Competition and the Poster Competition are also awarded monetary scholarships in order to encourage them to continue their artistic endeavors. In addition, a donation is made to the school of each winner to assist in the continued education of the arts in Clay County. Today, Concert on the Green is the single largest music and arts cultural event in Clay County. Over $320,000 has been given out over the past 30 years to Clay County students and Schools. The annual event is held on the campus of St. Johns Country Day School in Orange Park, FL. A large selection of food and beverages will be available for sale at locations throughout the Concert area. Concert on the Green is also open to you bringing a small picnic. Blankets and chairs are welcome on the lawn for all events but What we ask is that you consider reuseable containers for your picnic items in order to minimize the amount of waste that our event generates. Help us to make this a green event. We would also like to minimize the amount clean-up needed after the event. So even if you see trash that does not belong to you, be a good neighbor and dispose of it in the bins provided around the grounds. This is across the street from the main entrance to the event. There will be parking attendants to direct the general admissions parking. The main entrance will be the Moody Avenue entrance to St. Johns Country Day School.
