The Comrie Cancer Foundation was formed with the purpose of helping those in need by raising much needed funds, allowing them to focus their attention on dealing with their tribulations fighting cancer. The Comrie Cancer Foundation was formed in 2015 with the sole purpose to help those in need who are fighting through their tough battles with all types of Cancer. While there are so many foundations out there dedicated to research, we feel our duty is to the patients themselves and the hospitals who care for them. When you attend our events and donate to The Comrie Cancer Foundation, you see the attention to family, community, and the unity we are striving to bring to those around us during their difficult times. Doug and Carolyn Comrie actively pursued the development of clean energy technologies starting in the early 2000's. With the successful testing of the technology in 2005 commercialization commenced rapidly across the U.S. Today, some 40 plants are in operation helping to produce energy more cleanly. Current pursuits include development of opportunities in Germany and China. With successful implementation of the clean energy technology has come the generation of significant income. In an effort to share in this economic success it was now time to give back to society, thus The Comrie Foundation was formed 2 years ago. Through the foundation they have contributed to various organizations and charities that help those in need, whether it be the brave men and women fighting over seas to secure our freedom, or to the single mother who struggles everyday to make ends meet so that her children can have a better life, they make sure to try and do their part to help. Prior to forming the foundation Doug and Carolyn had the opportunity to take part in the Mardi Bras and Boxers event. After developing an interest in what the event was trying to accomplish they became a bigger contributer and more involved with the growth of the fundraiser. Now, after seeing it develop over the last few years, they were approached to have their foundation take on the responsibilities of the event to help it grow and develop into something bigger. This created the idea and birth of The Comrie Cancer Foundation, which will now do multiple fundraisers throughout SWFL, Ohio, and eventually beyond. We look forward to seeing where this adventure to help do our part in going the distance to relentlessly fight cancer goes, and hope you'll join us! Our goal is to make sure that in everything we do, we do it to benefit those from our local communities. Be they from Southwest Florida, or from the cities and communities we expand to in the future. The Comrie Cancer Foundation is holding a special exclusive event in November, 2016. In addition to supporting the foundation's activities for 2017, The Comrie Cancer Foundation is auctioning off a special vacation package to benefit Lewis Johnson, who is currently battling cancer. Lewis has a special bucket list wish to travel our great United States and take in as much of what makes our country so special. "The road is a long one and I want my turn on it to share with others in hopes of firing up their passion to live strong and put up a fight as well. We are all here to empower and help others in whatever way we possibly can and when it helps them to do it as they wish it is all the better especially if they too pass along the notion and vibe of goodwill to all."
