As Sales Director, he played a pivotal role in asset disposition, guided by strategic sales throughout Southeastern United States. His background includes nine years at American Forest Management and an educational foundation in natural resource management from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Travis Avant brings to the partnership a wealth of appraisal experience complemented by his history as a law enforcement officer, including two terms as Sheriff of Colleton County, South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and attended the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Together, they have formed Compass South, Inc., which offers a comprehensive range of services from timberland acquisition to divestment, encompassing investment consulting, land sales, and valuation appraisals specifically catered for institutional investors, family offices, or high net-worth individuals interested in timberland investments in the Southeast.
