Sean is responsible for assembling the corporate team and managing day-to-day operations of the Company. He has more than 15 years of engineering experience in medical devices and various startups. Sean is a Type 1 diabetic and well-known in the diabetes community. Prior to starting Companion Medical, Sean worked as Director of Advanced Technology and Mechanical Engineer at Tandem Diabetes Care, Co-Founder and Vice President of R&D at Alure Medical, Engineering Manager at Dexcom, and Senior Engineer at Medtronic/AVE. Sean has 175 issued and pending patent applications. Mike is responsible for strategic product development. Mike has more than 14 years of engineering experience in medical devices. Prior to starting at Companion Medical, Mike held various positions at Dexcom. His 13-year tenure included time as the Director of Software Development. In that position, he led the mobile medical app and cloud software research and development teams. Mike brings a long list of successful diabetes projects, including Dexcom G5 Mobile – the first direct to phone glucose monitor, Dexcom Share – the first real-time remote continuous glucose monitoring system, the first CGM integration with Apple Health and the first approved class 3 Apple Watch app. Mike’s experience as a leader in diabetes software is invaluable in Companion’s pursuit of innovative solutions for diabetes. Marty is a senior system and electrical engineer with extensive experience in product and project development, medical device development, and firmware and circuit design. Marty is responsible for the technical development of Companion’s products and research and development team management. Before joining the company, he held engineering and management positions at medical device and aerospace companies. Marty and Sean partnered to develop technology that served as the basis for the first real-time continuous glucose monitor available on the market. Jasper is a medical device professional specializing in strategy development and meeting quality, regulatory, clinical, and business objectives. Tony comes to Companion Medical from Tandem Diabetes Care where he was the Area Sales Director for the eastern U.S. He brings with him 18 years in diabetes industry experience and has previously held positions at Minimed & Animas, a Johnson & Johnson company.
