allows the state to contract with respected local, non-profit agencies to provide child welfare services in their local communities for children who have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned. Currently, there are 19 lead agencies in Florida. Since 2001, Community Partnership for Children has been the lead agency selected to serve Volusia, Flagler and Putnam Counties. Under the community-based care initiative, child protective services are transitioned to local providers and directed by the lead agency and a community alliance of stakeholders. This leadership is in partnership with Florida's Department of Children and Families.
Community Partnership for Children is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit agency. We have built a System-of-Care using 23 contracts with 13 local providers. Our System-of-Care
shows the relationship between us and our contracted partners. It is through the efforts and involvement of the community that we are able to keep children safe and build strong families.
Our robust community-based network also includes the partnership and support of other stakeholders including the Department of Children and Families, county governments, the faith-based community, local businesses, volunteer mentors, foster parents, the Center for Business Excellence, and the Community Alliance.
Community Partnership for Children is governed by a 100% community-based board of directors. Under the direction of the board and chief executive officer, Community Partnership for Children has designed and implemented a System-of-Care that draws on many local

Welcome to Community Partnership for Children. Thank you for your time and interest in learning about us and the children we serve. Our agency is one of twenty child welfare lead agencies in Florida under the
My career in child welfare spans 26 years and has made me a great believer in the possibilities strong community partnerships offer to an organization. Our agency partnerships provide us with many benefits: they are vital to building long-term capacity and sustaining our comprehensive System-of-Care; they have helped to increase awareness of our program within the community; they provide us with expertise resources which we use to improve services; and they provide us with diverse talents to address our challenges.
I encourage you to search our website and learn about our many partners. In our articles, newsletters and annual reports, you will read about the unique ways local businesses, organizations and individuals have found to support our mission. For example, Calvary Christian Center has helped us by hosting various conferences, foster and adoption recruitment events and a clothing closet for our families. The Salty Church has hosted adoption matching events and foster parent recruitment events. TD Bank helps sponsor our annual Friends of Children breakfast each year and their team members volunteer at many fundraising events. The Center for Business Excellence partnered with us on a grant to help support our foster teen mentor program. Kidds Are First and Rock Fashions launched a clothing boutique for foster children. The Port Orange South Daytona Rotary Club and Jennifer Ferguson of Raymond James lead our annual holiday toy drive each year to help provide gifts for over 500 children. These are just a few examples of the tremendous difference a community can make in the mission of child protection. I am hopeful you too will find your unique way to get involved.
Our team focuses on keeping children safe and building strong families. As I reach out to the community and talk to concerned citizens, I explain that we all must join together to help provide these families with the resources they need. It is the only way we will succeed.
