Who We Are Established in 2003, the Emergency Food Center of the Community of Gratitude has been in operation and growing since that time. Our very first month in operation, we provided food for 12 families. In 13 short years, we are now providing food for over 300 families in Ocklawaha, East Lake Weir and Weirsdale. At this time, we serve just over 7,000 meals per month for clients. Community of Gratitude serves eligible residents of Ocklawaha, East Lake Weir and Weirsdale. Clients must be under the monetary limit provided to us per USDA guidelines; the client declares his or her income. Clients must show proof of residence (such as a utility bill, rent, receipt, etc.) and Social Security Card for each member of the family that will be receiving food. Community of Gratitude is located just off of the North Shore of Lake Weir in the town of Ocklawaha, FL. Our physical address is: 13335 Volkmann Ave, Ocklawaha, FL, which is one street back of CR 25 directly behind the First United Methodist Church. We are located in a yellow house with our sign out front. Community of Gratitude receives approximately 14% of our total receipts from the United Way. The remaining 86% is from organizations and people like you. We gladly accept food and monetary donations.
