Our dedication to the happiness and well-being of our employees is shown in our latest expansion that includes a full-featured workout room and a new recreation and gathering area. The workout room features a host of commercial exercise equipment from a rowing machine and stair machines to Peloton bikes and a weight training gym. We are not all work however and the new recreation area features billiards, shuffleboard, video games and more to help employees wind down and relax. Doorways acquires the door and hardware business of Powers Products. This allows us to bring on board some of the most knowledgeable experts in the region including those in an office in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Doorways purchases and expands onto an adjacent property doubling our footprint. The expansion provides for the establishment of a state of the art Lock Shop and houses a dedicated sales team for end users. Colorado Doorways grows to have 100 employees. Colorado Doorways acquires S&L Lock & Key allowing it to expand into locksmithing and gaining Certified Master Locksmiths and other key personnel. Colorado Doorways acquires Johnson Hardware bringing on board some of the most knowledgeable and experienced industry experts. Doorways moves to a new, much larger facility at 52nd and Vasquez. This gives us the room to grow and provides the immediate benefit of giving us greater capacity in our wood door and hollow metal shops. We are busting at the seams and accommodate additional growth by purchasing an adjacent building. This allows us to add to our warehouse and provide much-needed additional office space. Doorways acquires Commercial Specialties and brings on board its key personnel to aid in helping us continue to grow. In only five years, Doorways has more than doubled in size. Colorado Doorways is acquired by its current owner setting off a period of more than 30 years of unprecedented growth and innovation. At that time, we had 10 employees. Company old-timer, lives and breathes the orange and blue I started at Doorways in 1993 which makes that…(carry to two)…25 years ago. This has really become my home away from home which can be credited to the wonderful leadership team. I have personally loved seeing the company grow into what it is today. Each new team member has brought their own unique touch to the company which keeps things exciting around here! I bring the same passion to my job that I do for my Denver Broncos, camping and drag racing. So sue me, I care about what I eat and I grew a beard that would make a lumberjack jealous! I have been with Doorways for almost 3 years now and honestly, this has been the best company I have ever worked for. Hard work does not go unnoticed, I am where I want to be with opportunity to advance in the future. Around here you see sons and daughters working at the same company as their parents and I think that serves as a testament to the character of Doorways. Colorado Doorways was a young company when I started 28 years ago. We had 17 employees with a vision to be an industry giant, and look at us now. I really attribute this success to the leadership and their genuine care for employees and work conditions. They gave me the opportunity for adventure and challenge which was extremely attractive to me. And yes, since moving to Colorado from the Northeast I have climbed 24 of Colorado’s 14ers…can you beat that? My time here at Doorways started around 5 years ago and WOW have we grown. As the corporate trainer I get the opportunity to interact with these fresh new faces on a daily basis. My job is to make your transition to CDI as smooth as possible, and I like to have a little fun while we are at it. Doorways understands that you have a life, family, dog, oddball hobbies, whatever it may be outside of work and they support you in living the life you want to live. An added bonus, if you’re a gamer like me, Doorways has a video game area so you can play at work! How about a round of Call of Duty at lunch? When I first started at CDI nearly 20 years ago the company represented “opportunity” to grow my career with a company that takes a personal interest in developing me into the industry professional I am today. At home, you can find me in the mountains with my family and daydreaming about one day visiting Australia. Also, I may drop a quote from the movie “Out Cold” that you may or may not catch…just laugh when I laugh. No one has access to more hardware than Colorado Doorways. ADA compliant lever locks, door closers, kick plates, electric strikes and exit devices are available. Electronic hardware, access and exit control hardware and automatic door operators are in stock. Colorado Doorways can provide a total security package using today’s high-tech access control technology. CCTV, elevator control, intercom systems, intrusion detection hardware and software, and biometrics are just some of the examples of electronic access control hardware CDI can provide. When one of the NFL’s winningest teams in history needed to upgrade their practice facility, Colorado Doorways was at the ready just as we were when they built Sports Authority Field at Mile High. We provided over 100 door openings complete with frames and hardware.
