Ron is a creative and inspirational leader who gets the most out of the people in his organization. He does a terrific job of setting the strategy for his group, getting everyone to buy in, and then pushing everyone to exceed expectations. Ron genuinely cares about everyone within his organization and that is reflected in the loyalty of everyone that has worked for Ron. Ron has been a huge asset to CA and we're lucky to have as part of our team. I must recommend Ron as someone that thinks out-of-the-box and drives the people on his team to do the same to create value for his company and his customers. He was able to understand a business need, recruit the right people, and lead the team to fulfill the business need.  I had the pleasure of working under Ron's leadership for a few years when he was in charge of the Storage Pre-Sales team at CA. Ron not only knew the business extremely well but was able to help his team solve problems by helping them look at the situation from different views. He is one of the most articulate and well respected individuals that I have ever come across. I will always consider him a mentor and a friend and I hope to have the pleasure of working with or for him again one day. Ron is one of those rare people that take as much ownership of his team as he does himself. He is always providing an environment where his people can grow and expand while not having to worry about everything going on around them. Working in his organization gave me a perspective of management that at the time I had not seen. It is possible for management and managers to be good people and to do what is best for the team as well as themselves and the company. If you get the chance to meet Ron you will notice what I am describing. I think that working in his organization gave me the foundation that I needed to grow my career and I encourage you to work with him as well if you get the chance. I had the pleasure to work for Ron for several years at CA. During that time Ron provided me an opportunity for growth in my professional career that I appreciate to this day. Ron challenged and guided me to make my own business decisions that were inline with the team's and company's overall business goals. Those experiences have provided me the confidence to make decisions today in my current role. Placing a lot of confidence in a new member of the team, Ron had me dive in with the newly acquired ARCserve product just as it was being leveraged as a component of Unicenter TNG. I used my background as a Novell administrator and experience with ARCserve to become the Southeastern SME for storage. He continued to guide me around professional issues all during my time at CA and I thank him to this day for his tutelage. He has the incredible ability to listen to all people and ask detailed questions to make them think. He does not let you complain without challenging you for an answer to solve it. He takes the needs of his employees, whether it be work or home related, and tries to help where he can. Ron was not just a boss but a person who many of us call a friend. He even went to battle with management on issues that affected our customers to try and make it better for everyone. He always stood behind us when sales tried to throw us under the bus. He asks questions before he takes action and is a very non-judgmental person in business and personal. I would work for Ron again in a heart beat. I've had the pleasure of working with Ron at CA over a number of years and have found Ron to be a great asset to my North American Channel team. Ron managed a pre-sales engineering team, responsible for enabling our partners and assisting them in closing CA business. Ron is a professional who takes pride in his work and has a positive attitude, which is infectious. I would recommend Ron without hesitation.  Being responsible for Channel Sales in North America, I worked very closely with Ron in his role as North America Presales Area Manager for Technical Support and Professional Services. Ron was a solid professional who had a comprehensive grasp of the necessary ingredients to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction possible and was very effective in applying these tools in achieving maximum results. In doing so, Ron worked closely with his managers and peers to ensure he and his staff were meeting the requirements of the business and the goals of the company. His commitment to his client was second to none and he developed specific resolutions for each of my unique requirements and did so in a well thought-out cost effective manner. Ron had a very positive attitude and always viewed a challenge as an opportunity to succeed for the customer, his people, and the company. He had a strong sense of responsibility to his people and placed a high value on their individual growth, both from a personal and business perspective. It has been a real pleasure working with him and I would welcome the opportunity to partner with Ron again in the future.
