About COFE Properties COFE Properties is a real estate investment firm headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida whose principal activities include the acquisition and operation of income producing real estate assets. Founded in 2002, COFE has a proven track record of acquiring quality assets and generating attractive returns. Since its origin, the activities of COFE can be divided into two categories — investments inside the U.S. and investments outside of the U.S. Between 2002 and 2005, COFE made a series of real estate investments in the South Florida market. During that time, COFE amassed a portfolio totaling approximately 1 million square feet of office and industrial assets. Sensing that the U.S real estate market might have been slightly inflated, the principals of COFE sold all of their U.S. real estate assets in 2006 and 2007. In 2004, the principals saw an opportunity to start a self-storage operation in Brazil (GuardeAqui Self Storage) and acquired and developed over 250,000 SF of self-storage space in Sao Paulo. These facilities represented the first truly modern, fully licensed, self-storage facilities in Brazil. The principals sold a controlling interest in GuardeAqui in 2011.
