Hugh Greene serves as CEO of Coastal Community Health in addition to serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health, which has been recognized as by National Research Corporation as the most preferred health system in the greater Jacksonville area for more than 25 years. Mr. Greene holds a master’s degree in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia and a master’s degree of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Wake Forest University where he was Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Greene currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the University of North Florida (UNF) and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Jacksonville Bancorp, Inc. and The Jacksonville Bank, a public company on NASDAQ. He served as board chair for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce in 2011. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Jacksonville Civic Council, the regional CEO group. In 2007, the Jacksonville Business Journal named him an Ultimate CEO and he was inducted into the First Coast Business Hall of Fame. As the founding chair of JaxCare, a program for the working uninsured, and chair of the Sulzbacher Center Board, he received the Excellence in Healthcare Award for his efforts on behalf of health care for the homeless. Mr. Greene was the recipient of the Leadership Jacksonville 2006 Community Trustee Award, the 2012 Humanitarian Award by OneJax, and the 2013 Distinguished Business Leader Award by UNF’s Coggin College of Business. Most recently, he was the national winner of the Community Leader Award by Modern Healthcare magazine (2014). Joe Gordy serves as Executive Vice President of Coastal Community Health in addition to serving as Flagler Hospital’s President & CEO, where he has been a part of the executive team at Flagler Hospital for more than 33 years. Under his leadership, Flagler Hospital has earned national accreditations for chest pain, stroke, joint replacements, bariatric surgery and cancer care – just to name a few. Flagler was also recently named one of the nation’s top 100 Community Hospitals by Becker’s Hospital Review. In addition to his work at the hospital, Joe was the founding Chairman of the St. Johns County Education Foundation, and was elected twice to the School Board where he served as Chairman in 1998. In recognition of his commitment to education, the Education Foundation presents the Gordy Award, named in his honor, each year to an individual or business that has supported the school district by enhancing educational programs in the county. Joe has also been President of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Committee of 100, and a member of the St. Johns County Economic Development Committee. His expertise, business acumen and commitment to the community were recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal, which named Joe Gordy a Northeast Florida Ultimate CEO for 2013. Mr. Scherneck brings an obvious wealth of health care financial knowledge to Southeast Georgia Health System where he oversees the departments of Finance, Medical Records, Patient Accounting, Information Systems, Business Development and Materials Management. Prior to coming in-house with the Health System, Mr. DeVooght was a partner with the law firm of Gilbert, Harrell, Sumerford & Martin, P.C. in Brunswick where he specialized in health care, corporate, regulatory and estate planning matters. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in history and then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law. While an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, he earned the Georgia Varsity "G" as a four year letter winner on the Men's Varsity Swim Team, was a school record holder, and earned Honorable Mention All-American and Academic All-American honors. Mr. DeVooght earned his MBA with a Certification in Healthcare Management in May 2009 from Brenau University, and received the Leadership Award for all of Brenau's graduate programs. Michael Hodges serves as Chair of Coastal Community Health as well as serving as a member of its Executive Committee. He also serves as the Treasurer of the Southeast Georgia Health System, Inc. Board and as a member of the Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital Authority. Appointed by the Glynn County Commission, Mr. Hodges has served on the Hospital Authority for eight years, four as chair. He has served on the Southeast Georgia Health System, Inc. Board since May 1, 2015. A native of Glynn County, Georgia, Mr. Hodges began his banking career with The First National Bank of Brunswick, now SunTrust Bank, as a branch manager and was quickly promoted to vice president and marketing director. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Hodges continued to advance his education and expand his knowledge of banking. He received his bachelor’s in Banking and Finance from the University of Georgia and then went on to graduate from Georgia Bankers School, University of Georgia, C&S Commercial Lending School, Atlanta, Georgia, National Commercial Lending Graduate School, University of Oklahoma and, finally, The Stonier Graduate School of Banking, University of Delaware. For the past 21 years, Mr. Hodges has worked for Ameris Bank (formerly The First Bank of Brunswick) and currently serves the company as Market President and Director. Matt Baker serves as Vice Chair of Coastal Community Health, and remains in services as a board member of Flagler Hospital. He has served in various leadership capacities at Flagler, including past Chairman of Flagler Health Services and past Board member of Flagler Health Care System. Carol Thompson serves as the Chair of Coastal Community Health’s Strategic Planning Committee, and also is a member of the Baptist Health Board, serving as chair of the Governance Committee and a member of the Audit, Executive, Pension, and Social Responsibility & Community Health Committees. She also serves on the Board of Baptist Medical Center Beaches.
