Recent accomplishments include providing renewable energy grants for the new installation of solar panels. 14 grants ranging from $500 to $1,000 were made in 2015. 72 grants totaling $54,200 have been made during 2013 to 2015. These grants will result in the production of a minimum of 350 KW of renewable energy on an annual basis.  In addition, several grants were made to support water conservation and community supported agriculture. $1,000 was awarded to a non-profit for the development of a school garden plan, $1,000 was awarded to the Florida Springs Institute to support their continued work with the Florida Aquifer system, and $652 was awarded to a local high school for the installation of a hydration station to re-fill re-usable water bottles. First Green Foundation will continue to provide grants for community-based initiatives focusing on renewable energy, water conservation, and community supported agriculture.  Nonprofits, schools, and governmental agencies and municipalities are encouraged to apply using the new guidelines and application that is available on our News page.
