Bob is a University of Florida graduate with degrees in Plant Pathology and Entomology and a minor in Ornamental Horticulture. Upon graduation, Bob joined the Ball Seed Company. In 1977 he established his own plant cloning business which he sold to Ciba Geigy in 1984. Bob has worked for or managed several major horticultural businesses including Twyford International Inc.   Dr. Hartman is responsible for developing new varieties of caladiums and has introduced many of his creations to the public. He also works extensively to rejuvenate existing varieties, cleaning by making them more disease resistant.      Easy to grow and trouble free, our Classic caladiums are a colorful and inexpensive option for your home patio pot or landscape. Caladiums will provide summer long color and Classic is producing more exciting new & vigorous caladium varieties than all other producers and research institutions combined. In fact, we have created and patented more varieties in the past 5 years than the entire industry has in the past 150 years. Many of these a new sun tolerant caladiums - all bred by our CEO, Dr. Robert Hartman - innovation is the core of our caladium business    Having owned and operated an antiques and greeting card company for 15 years [in Charleston, SC, and Atlanta], I am acutely aware of what makes up good customer service [from the standpoint of a buyer and seller].  I dealt with hundreds of antique dealers and dozens of card companies over the years, and good service meant that I would return to the purveyors who provided it.  As a merchant I always did whatever possible to insure my customers' satisfaction, and it was a matter of pride for me.    It is truly wonderful to know that in today's world there are still some businesses who understand and extend true customer service.
