Dr. Helsing has been practicing optometry in the Tampa Bay area since 1982. He specializes in contact lenses and pre-op and post-op laser evaluations. Dr. Helsing examines all ages from age 5 and up. Dr. Helsing is the owner of Citrus Park Eyecare and believes in preventive care and the importance of annual eye exams. Dr. Helsing has been the primary doctor in Citrus Park Eyecare since January, 2005. Since then, he is the proud owner since June, 2005. Dr. David Helsing graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois in 1982. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in clinical chemistry from the University of South Florida. Dr. Helsing is a board certified Optometric Physician. He is a member of the Hillsborough Optometric Society, the Florida Optometric Society and the American Optometric Society. He is a past president of the Hillsborough Optometric Society. Matthew D. Helsing, O.D., is an associate Optometrist at Citrus Park Eyecare. He is a full scope optometric physician trained in all areas of glaucoma, pediatric, geriatric, low vision, therapeutic eye care and he specializes in contact lens care. Dr. Helsing is a native of Tampa. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at the University of Florida in 2005. He then completed his Biomedical Science requirements at the University of South Florida in 2007. He went to Nova Southeastern University to complete his O.D. in Optometry and graduated in 2011. Debbie is a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist(COMT) with over 30 years of experience in the eye care field. She works closely with the doctors doing specialty and preliminary testing as well as gathering important information to ensure you receive the most thorough eye exam.
