LAIN (LATIN AMERICAN INDEPENDENT NETWORK), mother company of Cinemania Network, was born in 1981 in order to distribute Venezuelan movies in international TV markets. Nowadays, LAIN, from its offices in South Beach – Miami Florida, represents production companies worldwide, in addition to LAIN’s programming which focuses on the Hispanic markets. In the expansion process, LAIN created dubbing studios, subtitling and production of international bands. In addition to this, LAIN also produces TV series.
In September of 1996, LAIN authored one of the projects which founded South Beach Screenings. Later, LAIN implemented the new program called “Red a la Carte Syndication” which facilitates programming and advertising transactions for independent TV channels and advertisers. LAIN service department had made the M&E tracks for a substantial part of the “telenovelas” produced in Latin America. LAIN’s services also comprise dubbing and subtitling for movies and series. Including digital production and post-production focused to the internet.
In January of 2003 LAIN International, the distributor arm of LAIN, and Teleanuncio the advertising sales company, are sold to Kanakaris Wireless, a public traded technology company. Then, in the reorganization process, Cinemania Network becomes the distribution arm of LAIN and the Internet channel becomes Cinemania.TV under a new platform. In February of 2014, MCExtreme is launch (M=Mind; C=Creation).
