At Church in the Palms our mission is simple: We invite you to join us as we follow Jesus Christ and join God's mission together here in Palm Beach County. Church in The Palms Church in the Palms is led by a gifted an experienced staff team whose mission is to equip and empower our congregation for the work God has called us to do. Shawn was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He plays a dozen instruments, and his favorite notes are the ones not written on the page. After serving churches in Virginia, Florida, Massachusetts, the Allens moved to South Florida, compelled by the spiritual need and intrigued by the cultural diversity. Shawn is an Adjunct Professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University, and a PhD student at St. Thomas University in Miami. Shawn and his wife, Sara, have been married for 20 years, and are raising three children: Nellie (16), Grace (14), and Walker (12). Sara is a licensed acupuncturist and also tutors teenage equestrian athletes in Wellington. Shawn has been serving as the Senior Pastor of Church in the Palms since February, 2016. Israel and his wife Jessica were led to Church in the Palms after serving in the student ministry at another local church. They both have a passion to see our students grow closer to God and to their families. Israel wants to "empower the youth to become leaders in our community and share the Love of Christ with others." The Casillas family have two children, Taylor, now a senior in high school, and Jordan, a high school freshman. Israel and Jessica are also foster parents for several children. Cameron, Connor, and Charis, an 8th grade student at The Kings Academy. Tami has a passion for children, and we are so thankful she is sharing her love for God with our kids! Dale came to Church in the Palms after leading a Student Ministry at a large church here in Palm Beach County. Born and raised right here in South Florida, Dale earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University before beginning his ministry career. Dale and his wife Susan, an Assistant Vice President for Children and Family Mental Health Services, have two daughters: Kaitlin, who recently graduated from the University of South Florida, and Allie, who is a sophomore at Northeastern. Dale is a Mathematics teacher at Palm Beach Lakes High School. In addition to his ability to crunch numbers for our congregation and the Community Life Center, we are so blessed to have another seasoned pastor on our staff team! We are committed to studying the Word of God and faithfully living it out. We are committed to being the body of Christ in spirit, word, and deed. We commit ourselves to the mission that Jesus Christ gave every believer: to make disciples of all nations. We seek to love and serve all people, beginning with those within our sphere of activity and influence. Church in The Palms Church in the Palms is an English-speaking congregation,  and we are honored to host churches who worship in Spanish and Creole. Together, we are what the Scripture calls a house of prayer for all nations.
