Christopher started his career with the international law firm of Dechert LLP in 2001, working as an associate in the securities law division. He became a member of the Florida Bar in 2002, and returned to Florida in 2005 to open a small practice. His practice areas include bankruptcy, civil litigation, personal injury, debt mitigation, estate planning, probate, guardianship and real estate. Outside of work, Mr. Smith is a high school football official, an avid boater and golfer, Rays fan, and father of three. has been Mr. Smith’s legal assistant and office manager since 2007. A native of northern Maine, she brings decades of experience in office management to the firm. As a former owner of an advertising/PR firm specializing in event planning, she combines strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a genuine desire to provide the best in client service. Away from work, her favorite activities are golf, cooking (and eating) good healthy food, Sunday dinners with children and granddaughters, reading, rooting for the Rays, and solving the NY Times Sunday crossword puzzles – in ink. She has resided in Sarasota since 2000 with her husband, Ken. received a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Missouri. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, FL. During law school, John worked in two different personal injury law firms and now, as a member of the Florida Bar, focuses his work on personal injury law. After living in Miami, Chicago, New Jersey, Toronto, Canada and Missouri in his lifetime, John is excited to call the west coast of Florida his home.
