The Board of Directors appoints the Executive Board responsible for the day-to-day management of the company and for observing guidelines and recommendations issued by the Board of Directors. Management philosophy Generally, we have the same management philosophy across our three business areas and all our offices and subsidiaries, but individual managers each have their special qualifications, and each management position requires particular competencies. Vendor first, then product Our vendor approval process is separated from the approval of new raw materials. This means that in principle vendors are approved irrespective of the products they supply to us. As a responsible company we want  to ensure that we do not buy products, however suitable they may be, from a vendor who does not live up to our demands in terms of Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility. Product and consumer safety is critical to Chr. Hansen as a vendor to the food and life science industries world-wide. We use foils, ridged containers and corrugated products, and focus on compliance with food legislation. Chr. Hansen aims at electronic interaction with our vendors to the greatest possible extent. We believe that this provides improved transparency, increased access to information and statistics together with more efficient purchase and payment processes. We use an e-procurement solution for purchase of all goods and services within our Indirect spend. The system provides an overview of spend and quantities that allows us to optimize conditions with vendors after an agreement has been reached. Furthermore, we ensure automatic entry, invoicing and approval of invoice. The availability of only preferred vendors incl. their product catalogs ensures automated compliance with vendor contracts and thereby potentially increased sales Online collection of quotes to  either award business or shortlist vendors.
