Born in Bronx, NY and raised in Puerto Rico. Ms. Vázquez is the oldest of three children, from a working-class community. Watching her grandmother cook everyday, was how she got her first culinary experiences, making her first sunny side up eggs at a tender age of 5. In 1993, she started working as an Image Consultant for a well known image and cosmetic company in Dallas, TX. Very soon the company recognized Minerva’s ability to engage with an audience, and she was asked to be the spokesperson for a training video for Image Consultants of the Hispanic market. The result was a dramatic increase in sales. This new filming experience made Minerva realized how comfortable she feels in front of television cameras and decided to make a career change. In August 2011, Ms Vázquez was selected as a contestant for TLC’s show Next Great Baker Season 2. This experience was a confirmation to her that TV is where she belongs. Soon after that, she was approached by the well known Hispanic network, Univision, to become one their celebrity chefs for the morning show Despierta America. Chef Minerva feels most at home in front on television cameras. She has the ability to come across in a natural and relaxed manner. Today Chef Minerva Vázquez is loved in South Florida and in demand as a Personal Chef and Baker; and her reputation as on the Best Chefs in South Florida continues to grow.
