Charlotte Community Foundation will award more than $117,000 We are so proud of all the Charlotte County residents who are pursuing higher education. The Charlotte Community Foundation Hand-Up Grant will begin accepting applications for the 2nd Quarter on April 2, 2018. The Charlotte Community Foundation is an independent, tax exempt, certified 501(C)(3) public charity created by and for the people of Charlotte County, Florida. We are the community’s center for philanthropy. Focused exclusively on the current and emerging needs of Charlotte County, we assist individuals, families and businesses in establishing charitable funds which are then used to provide grants, education, resources and support to local nonprofits. Unlike nonprofit organizations focused on a single cause, the Charlotte Community Foundation exists to improve the entire community. We do so by serving our donors, advocating for philanthropy and supporting other nonprofit organizations. By working across the community, we are able to gain extensive knowledge of Charlotte County and what makes the community tick — including the needs of our residents, the forces of change and the region’s capacity for growth. Serving Charlotte County since 1995, the Charlotte Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter. Through October, 2016 the CCF has awarded $ 817,921.03 in total annual grants and scholarships. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for Charlotte County residents by nurturing a community of givers and connecting them to the causes that make a difference. We want to help build an enduring community of philanthropy that addresses community needs now and in the future. . When the hospital was sold and became the Charlotte Regional Medical Center in 1995, the foundation transitioned into a separate nonprofit organization called the Charlotte Community Foundation and took on a wider role in the community.
