In 1974, Charles Samelson founded Charles Samelson, Inc. and began the successful journey of designing and engineering stylish fire retardant (FR) fabrics for the contract and residential marketplace. Consistent growth throughout the ‘70’s and ‘80’s led to the founding of the Chatelane division to focus on the residential jobber trade.
