I experienced the loneliness and the fear, the hopelessness, and the helplessness. I endured multiple career detours while I suffered from chronic illness and pain. I was passed from one doctor to the next, and none of them really listened. They fit me into the diagnoses that would enable them to feed me prescriptions and perform surgeries.
