CHANGE IT UP EDITING, INC., BOCA RATON

The publishing world is changing faster than I can type. The good news: today, just about anyone who has something to say can be a published author. If you’ve ever thought, “I should write a book about that,” NOW is the time to make it happen! I’m here to help you make that book, newspaper article, blog post, advertising flyer—or anything else that strings together those amazing, marvelous things called words—sound as perfect and professional as it can be. If you have something to say and need help saying it succinctly, let me know how I can help you. And if you’re not sure what type of help you need, that’s okay—we’ll figure it out together! My blog has many articles to both help you determine your editing needs and help you grow as a writer; here are just a few: I am a professional freelance editor, writer, and ghostwriter. Previously, I was a senior editor for Health Communications, Inc., a traditional trade book publisher best known for the original Chicken Soup for the Soul series as well as other nonfiction bestsellers. As a freelance editor and proofreader, I have worked with traditional publishers, self-published authors, and independent book packagers on nonfiction subjects ranging from memoirs to alternative medical treatments to self-help. I have assisted several authors with reality-based novels as well as more traditional fiction genres. I also specialize in helping nonfiction authors polish their book proposals in preparation for querying agents and publishers. As an editorial specialist, I offer my clients the opportunity to take their work to the next level. I believe in maintaining an author’s unique voice while helping him or her create and polish every sentence to make it the best it can be. Writers are often too close to their own work to be objective about what they’ve written, and one of my fortés is my ability to home in on writing weaknesses and help writers convey their message in the most powerful way possible—regardless of the subject matter—while maintaining the author’s unique voice. Whether helping an author organize ideas before writing begins or during the writing process, fine-tuning details such as spelling, punctuation, syntax, word choice, and organization of ideas, proofreading for errors in a manuscript before or after typesetting, or polishing a book proposal, I work in a collaborative and supportive environment that allows authors to achieve the most professional quality possible in their work. Would you like to know more about how a professional editor can help? Whether you’re writing a blog post or article, a book proposal, query letter, or a full book, I’m available by email at [email protected] or by phone at (954) 348-1963. Let’s chat soon; I’m here to help! “She is a true ‘insider’ in the publishing world, and what I love about Candace is her ability to help authors create the best, most polished book possible, with an eye toward both their commercial success and their readers’ perspective—all without diminishing the writer’s unique voice. Candace’s editing and critiquing approach is professional, positive, and right-on in terms of helping both self-published and commercially published authors bring their writing dreams to fruition. Candace is a super-knowledgeable professional, a caring person, and someone who I am now proud to call my friend.” "The author guides and helps you to heal the pain of grief by using words very precisely, clearly and beautifully such that it seems to me words are echoed by me after I finished this book. I feel I have the strength again..." "The writing is extremely validating and it leaves you with a feeling that "it's okay" everything and anything you're going through while grieving is normal...Out of all the books I have read thus far this one has been the most comforting. Thank You Dr. Han for sharing your experience and helping others like me through our grief." "Going through a divorce and the grief is consuming at times. I found this helpful and loved the resources provided." As a psychologist, I worked with many patients, helping them to cope with the loss of a loved one. But suddenly, I was no longer the doctor. A profound shift in my understanding of life occurred as my eyes opened to a new world of suffering. I walked around in darkness for a while and eventually came to a crossroads. I realized I had a choice: I could run from grief or embrace it with all of its lessons. I could choose hopelessness or a life of meaning. If you are in the midst of grieving the loss of a loved one, this book provides effective, practical methods for you to approach those difficulties in a way that can help you emerge stronger and more whole. If you are further along in your experience with losing a loved one, and feel you're coping well, this book will help you discover new ways to face grief and experience deeper levels of health and fulfillment.
