CHAMPIONS YOUTH FITNESS LLC
TAMPA, FLORIDA

In 2010, the company gathered an expert team of health care experts, the Pros, to develop the most effective and interactive family-based weight management programs – KidShape 2.0 and Healthy Track. KidShape, for children ages 6-12, builds on the original program that began in 1986 and adds more interactive activities in the classroom and online features. Healthy Track is built on the same philosophy and is directed at teens and adults, 13 and up. Families learn tools to change behavior, eat healthier, move more and feel good. Philosophy KidShape is striving to reverse the obesity epidemic with a variety of programs to help families live healthier. Our administrative team has over 60 years of combined experience in healthcare, with a special focus on reducing obesity and heart disease. All of KidShape curricula are evidence-based and consistent with the American Academy of Pediatrics’ “Recommendations for Treatment of Child and Adolescent Overweight and Obesity” (Pediatrics 2007; 120; S254-288) and the findings of the United States Preventative Services Task Force recommendation on screen for obesity in children and adolescents and its supplemental article “Effectiveness of Weight Management Interventions in Children” (Pediatrics 2010; 125;e396). Combining an effective family-based pediatric weight management program with on-going follow-up provides a comprehensive solution for the problem of childhood obesity. KidShape has been structured so that it is consistent with the most effective techniques documented in the scientific literature (Spear, B, et al. “Recommendations for Treatment of Child and Adolescent Overweight and Obesity,” Pediatrics 2007; 120; S254-288) and is adaptable to a variety of settings. Implementation of KidShape is turn-key. Health care providers, who implement the program, focus their energy on providing a great program and not recreating the wheel by recreating all of the necessary materials and lesson plans affiliated with a pediatric weight management program. KidShape is available for licensure to primary health care providers, health care agencies, schools and community-based organizations, that want to provide a solution to childhood obesity. , a division of the Small Business Administration of the US Federal Government.
