She later worked at Gould Computer Systems (now Gould Electronics) while attending college in addition to juggling the demands of raising a family of five children. At Gould, Mrs. Wedderburn worked in the International Finance Department compiling and analyzing consolidated financial statements for over two dozen of the company’s subsidiaries. At the time, Gould was a leading supplier of minicomputers, which were then the most advanced computer technology available, long before the growth in popularity of PLC and DCS systems or even PC based control system. Ironically, Gould would later acquire Modicon, the inventor of the first PLC, a product that is so instrumental to the services that Champion Controls provides today. She continued her financial management career as VP and Financial Manager of Acutec, Inc. before incorporating Champion Controls in 2003. Champion Controls, Inc. is looking for an experienced Custom Assembler / Fabricator for our control panel manufacturing facility in Fort Lauderdale. This is a full time position 7am-3:30pm. 3+ years of experience in doing assembly and fabrication work Champion Controls is seeking an electrical engineer for its Fort Lauderdale office. The Electrical Engineer will work as part of our team that designs industrial control systems. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in the process controls industry designing and implementing PLC, RTU, and SCADA solutions. Candidate should also have expertise in low and medium voltage, single-phase and three-phase AC motors and motor control technologies Microsoft Office suite of products Other products and technologies such as: MODBUS RTU, DNP3, and Serial communications; Visual Studio programming; and SQL Server administration & programming preferred Champion Controls, a fast growing system integration and custom control systems company is seeking to add another Estimator to our business development group. Successful candidate will work out of our Fort Lauderdale, FL office and will be responsible for preparing quotes and bid proposals based on the customer’s electrical, instrumentation and control design documents. Typical design documents include: electrical schematics & one line diagrams; electrical panel and control panel layouts; P&ID’s; as well as other plans and specifications. The Estimator will also represent our company at customer pre-bid meetings and perform site walk downs. Champion Controls, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to serve as one of the primary respondents for customer service calls and to support our company’s control system startup efforts. Main responsibilities will include the setup and troubleshooting of PLC’s, RTU’s, & SCADA systems as well as process instrumentation for measuring: temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, level, density, viscosity, pH, conductivity, etc. You will work with the customer’s operation teams as required and take the lead in scheduling and performing the Champion Controls related field activities. Knowledge of the water/waste water industry is extremely beneficial. This position is full time with flexibility for emergency calls. This position also requires traveling to various out of town job sites.
