Mission
Our mission is to be a top provider of high quality and easy to adopt global standards that support sustainable and equitable economic growth while promoting innovations that protect health, safety and the environment.
In 2007, after 35 years of working in the trade, Augusto G. Casamayor realized that the printing industry is one of the largest consumers of petroleum products, and one of the main causes of deforestation around the globe. Because of this, Casamayor made a conscious decision to transition his business into one that can coexist with nature.
In 2008, after experiencing market-based success through environmental sustainability, Casamayor sought the opportunity to make a greater impact by implementing large-scale standards applicable to all industries; as a result, he founded CERTIFIED GREEN PARTNERS® (CGP).
Headquartered in Miami, Florida, CERTIFIED GREEN PARTNERS® began offering educational seminars to help companies mitigate the impact of their operations, specifically through their use of paper and ink, by offering more sustainable and effective alternatives, while stressing the importance of creating efficient recycling programs.
In 2009, CGP began combining international standards, procedures, and practices in one single program with the purpose of certifying businesses through a third-party organization. The standards are based on the principles of the 3Ps (Profit, People and Planet) of the global vision of sustainable development that was established by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in 1992.
In 2010, CGP launched their Integrated Environmental Management Program to help companies ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
Certified Green Partners® (CGP) is an international and independent educational and certification organization committed to promoting the integration of sustainable practices across all industries. By implementing an easy to follow program, all public and private organizations regardless of size, goods produced or services offered, can comply with local and international regulations.
The CGP program is a combination of existing global environmental standards and practices, in order to help companies ensure quality, safety and efficiency. The program also includes performance indicators that can be customized by certification level, geographic area and local factors. This ability to personalize the program allows an organization to create its own plan of action in regards to conservation.
CGP’s Standards provide practical tools for tackling many of today’s global challenges – from managing global water resources to improving the safety of the food we eat.
Governments increasingly use the carbon footprint as the core indicator of our impact on the environment. But does one indicator fit all? CGP has produced an Integrated Environmental Management Program that sheds light on the importance of consistency in standards in this field and how one can break down trade barriers and help build a more sustainable future.
Climate change is a major environmental challenge of our time. Global action is needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as adapt to the changes that cannot be avoided. CGP International Standards can help hold climate change in a number of ways. For example, we have standards for measuring greenhouse gas emissions while actively working to verify the claims of their impact to our environment.
Reducing energy consumption and the dependency on fossil fuels is a major challenge. We can help solve the energy challenge by increasing energy efficiency and promoting the development of renewable energy technologies. CGP diligently updates its standards in order to keep up with the rapidly evolving technological climate. This ensures an optimal cost effective option to reduce energy costs.
Services represent more than two thirds of the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). They are a core economic activity, contributing more to GDP than both industry and agriculture combined. CGP works with standards that help ensure that services are of a consistently high quality
Food products regularly cross national boundaries at every stage of the supply chain. CGP International Standards create confidence in the products we eat or drink by ensuring the world uses the same criteria when it comes to food quality, and safety. CGP Food Standards deal with subjects as diverse as food chain, agricultural machinery, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, labeling, packaging, and storage.
CGP water standards build confidence through consensus-based global solutions for good business practice, management of resources, risk assessment, metrics, and infrastructure. CGP facilitates sustainable water management, increases water potential and helps alleviate water scarcity.
Regardless of the desired certification level chosen by a participating entity, an independent and accredited third party will assess current practices and create a customized plan that will help any organization reach all requirements. All documented sustainable efforts are taken into consideration and converted into points using a Scale that consists of six tiers. Each of these tiers represents a fixed number of points. The certification level of the company is based on the number of sustainability points accumulated among other standards that must be met.
When an entity—a company or agency—is certified, they will receive a certificate from Certified Green Partners (CGP), and earn the right to use the CGP Seal of Compliance. The seal assures that a company's products, processes, systems, and services conform to local and international standards and regulations.
Our goal is for all businesses to qualify for the Green Plus Certification level that indicates the highest sustainability standards benefitting our global ecology and economy.
Businesses, agencies, and other organizations benefit in a number of ways from becoming a CGP-certified organization. Implementing a CGP management system will motivate your employees to get more involved and to have a more detailed understanding of the way their actions affect the operation of your business. It also provides employers the opportunity to better understand the training needs of each employee.
