Welcome to Education Lady – the answer to your educational needs and a place to simply chill, enjoy a childhood story or discover a way to help your child, student or self be a better learner, minus all the dang busywork. In 2001, after less than a full year as a teacher, with just one after-school student, an idea was born. That idea was the Center 4 Learning. The Center 4 Learning grew into a mobile tutoring business – as in me in my bright, yellow VW Beetle with signage in every window. I was hard to miss me. There were write-ups in the local paper, radio shows and a few well-placed advertisements. And the Center 4 Learning was born. To date, the Center 4 Learning has helped over 3,597 students locally. And now, we’re moving online too. So watch out! The Center 4 Learning’s mission has always been simple – “Learning never ends, it simply gets better.” And me, well, I’m on a mission to bring the FUN back to And the Center 4 Learning is the perfect outlet to enable me to help children, parents and other life-long learners who wish to make a difference. He has two teenagers whom I’ve had the pleasure, privilege and, I kid you not, horror, to help raise. Come on now, being a step-monster-mother includes hair-pulling moments! IF STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS, FOR REAL, IS SOMETHING YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO DO, THEN WE NEED TO TALK. Suddenly, through tutoring, I was making great money. And nope, that’s reality, not the nightmare. This doubt, this dread that it would soon be over and I’d be found out, allowed me to treat my new tutoring business more like a hobby then a business. I loved my Center 4 Learning tutoring business. My escape plan was pretending not to care while staying planted, stuck in my day job teaching high school and making excuses as to why tutoring wasn't really a serious thing. And it wasn’t until I discovered what it meant to be all in, that my very successful, little, side-hobby-of-a-business tutoring took off and grew into something utterly amazing that has helped over 3,751 live students in just over a decade (and 100x that virtually!).
