CELL QUEST, INC., SEBRING

CellQuest is the brand name for products derived from musaceae plants (plantains and bananas). The derived products exclude the fruit (berries), and include the plants themselves (stems, stalks, rhizomes). It is a natural liquid derived from specially selected and cultivated “musa” plants. This liquid contains many defense compounds (phytoalexins) generated within the stalks and stems of the plant to ward off external attackers such as microbes, fungi and parasites. These defense compounds are reported to assist the human immune system in maintaining a natural physiological balance and a clean division of cells. Although the musa plants produce edible “fruits” comprising primary foods in tropical regions of the world, they are not “trees” but are specifically categorized as herbs. In this context the fruit is more correctly classified as a berry. In the sub-tropical climate of Florida, these plants are continually subject to growth stress, consequently producing less than commercial “fruit” quality. CellQuest takes advantage of both the environmental stress and soil chemistry impacts to optimize the generation of phytoalexins not readily or economically available in other regions of the world. The company plans to continue applying optimized processes related to the unique conditions of musa cultivation, solely in Florida. A relatively recent discovery of a specific type of these phytoalexins are “salvestrols”. Researchers at Leicester University in England indicates that a class of phytoalexins named by them as “Salvestrols” are present in plants that are engaged in warding off fungal infections. Fungi are prime attackers of musa plants and threaten to significantly affect future commercial production of plantains and bananas. CellQuest cultivates musa plants for medicinal purposes as distinct from fruit production, thereby maximizing the inclusion of defense compounds (phytoalexins) in the stem liquids. The company cultivates selected Musa varieties applying bio-botanical techniques in the Company’s farm in Ruskin, Florida. These salvestrols are commonly recognized by their bitter taste and believed to be present in several organically grown whole foods. They are specifically identified by their metabolic reactions with an enzyme intrinsically bound to cancer cells. When in contact with this enzyme (CYP 1B1) they produce special metabolites within the cancer cells themselves initiating the cellular process of apoptosis (programmed cell death) in the malignant cells as distinct from normal cells. These research findings have not been clinically tested or consequently approved by the FDA. Modifying diets to control calorie intake as distinct from the selection or rejection of specific foods constitutes a basic principle for promoting a healthy lifestyle. Although the general guidelines of Recommended Daily Allowances (%RDA) help to avoid both deficiencies and excesses, it is the ratios between the essential macro elements that control balance (homeostasis) in the human physiological complex. For example, Loyola University researchers concluded that urine analyses of sodium/potassium ratios postulated lower cardio disease risk when such ratios are low. Clearly and logically the interaction between macro elements such as potassium and sodium, calcium and magnesium relate more directly to biochemical reactions than to the single action of any one of them. The low sodium/potassium ratio in the CellQuest product may assist in Cardio support. Additionally, the inclusion of punica granatum may reduce the accumulation of arterial plaque or possibly reverse it. These latter postulates have not yet been approved as functional food claims. Several women have reported that CellQuest has reduced excessive yeast in cases of candidiasis (yeast infections), and helped in restoring bacterial balance. Cell Quest
