Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters, Inc., is a well-established coffee roasting business with deep roots in the Citrus County community of Florida. Founded by Stephen Dorst in 2008, Cattle Dog began as a small venture aimed at delivering fresh and high-quality roasted coffee to local citizens. The company, named after Stephen's dog Barney—a blue heeler cattle dog—and bearing his logo, holds considerable local sentimental value following his untimely passing shortly after the store opened. After Dorst's tragic death, James and Heather Cook discovered the fledgling business and recognized its potential, leading to their eventual acquisition. With James' background as a graduate of Johnson & Wales University's culinary program and his experience in the restaurant industry, along with Heather’s insights and commitment, they successfully reopened Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters on February 23, 2009. Located at 2416 North Heritage Oaks Path in Hernando, Florida, the company continues to honor Dorst’s vision by providing quality coffee, innovative tea selections, and a dynamic menu. The store functions not only as a coffee hub but also as a community gathering spot embodying the ethos that friends come together here. Incorporated on December 11, 2007, and holding a filed number of P07000130966, Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters maintains an active status in Florida's business registry. The company operates under the structure of a DOMP (Domestic Profit Corporation) and remains responsive to its clientele through valued customer feedback integral to its operations. Today, James T. Cook serves as President (PS), and Heather L. Cook as Vice President-Treasurer (VPT), continuing to guide Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters toward fulfilling both the original dream set forth by Dorst and their own aspirations for success in the coffee industry.
