For 16 years Catnip Trails worked tirelessly to save the homeless pets of central Florida.  We have rescued, re-homed, adopted, transported, reunited, and either medically or behaviorally treated thousands of cats & dogs and even a few livestock.   Below are just a few of the successes we have celebrated, and the reason we continue to help others find the resources they need to save lives.  Catnip Trails is now taking a more proactive approach to help people find the resources they need to keep animals out of the shelters in the first place.  While we no longer offer shelter/foster services, we will try to help you find the resources you need. If you do find a rescue willing to help you, offer to help them in return.  Many have a wish-list of household items, volunteers, or pet-store gift cards.  Please consider making a donation to Catnip Trails so that we may continue to offer free services to those in need. We can help you keep your pet! Catnip Trails is NOT a shelter; we do not take in lost, stray, or owner surrendered pets. At Catnip Trails, we believe that pets are family members for life and we'd like to help you keep your pet at home, and out of the shelter system.  Many people don't realize there are several resources available to help you - from low-cost vetting, and free pet food, to behavior specialists, all working together to try to reduce the number of pets that enter our shelters every year.  At Catnip Trails, we will try to help you resolve any issue with your pet, and/or help you find a no-kill rescue, and/or help you rehome your pet without involving your local animal control facility. page for links to organizations that may be able to help you keep your pet from becoming another statistic.  KC helped us save Dixie from a high kill shelter in Miami, and adopted her for life.  Dixie needs some medical care, and is getting LOTS of TLC right now.  If you would like to donate to Dixie in KC's name, please use our Paypal account:
