Our Mission As a full service accounting firm, our goal is to provide superior service to our clients that they can understand and use to make better financial decisions. Our products are not just financial statements and tax returns, but tools to understanding the health of our client’s business and financial well-being. We don’t just deliver the numbers, but explore alternatives to better improve processes and, therefore, grow our clients’ top-line revenues and profits. We believe in supporting our clients through proactive communication and timely responsiveness to ensure that we are meeting their ever-changing needs. Carmen founded the Alvarez CPA Group in 2009 with one hope: to deliver accounting and tax services to her clients that they can understand and utilize to successfully grow their businesses. Her goal of providing superior service carries through every aspect of the firm’s deliverables. With many years of experience in the accounting industry, she has expanded her knowledge and skill set with extensive work as a business taxation, individual taxation, non-profit, trust, and estate tax professional. In addition, she has a background of experience in IRS issue resolution and representation before the Florida Department of Revenue. From 2007 to 2010, Carmen was Chief Financial Officer of a mid-sized software development and consulting firm that grew over 300% during her tenure. She has expansive knowledge and experience in private industry accounting controls, financial analysis, corporate strategy and performance measures. Throughout her public accounting career, Carmen has dealt with clients in most major business categories, and particularly enjoys assisting clients with new business venture set up, including expert advising on their accounting and bookkeeping systems, budgeting, and cash flow analysis. In addition, she also provides experience in a wide range of independent financial analysis and tax planning to her client base. Carmen is a native of Tampa. She is the daughter of Cuban immigrants who have owned their own business for over 30 years and is carrying forth that tradition with her own firm. She very strongly believes in the health and promotion of small businesses. She is a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names High School and received both her BS in Accounting and her BA in History from the University of South Florida. She married Darrell Lettiere, her business partner, in 2005. With a firm commitment to her local community and strong work ethic, Carmen is active in a number of professional groups and not-for-profit organizations, including Board Member at The Glazer Children's Museum and Tempus Projects. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
