In February 2015, the company acquired the exclusive North American trademark license, for LED lighting, to the more than 100 year old and trusted home electric brand, Hoover®. The patent-pending technology, invented by AC Kinetics, Inc., provides on-demand switchable lighting for power failure situations. The technology detects power outage and allows users to maintain control of their lights using the existing wall switch to seamlessly deliver integrated battery power to LED lighting. This unique technology significantly increases the convenience of power failure lighting by allowing the user to budget available backup lighting over the duration of an outage. By leveraging the Hoover® HOME LED brand in addition to Capstone Lighting brand, Capstone will broaden its product line further in the rapidly growing, multi-billion dollar LED lighting market. The AC Kinetics technology, exclusive to Capstone, adds both value and safety to everyday lighting products. The technology will find a home in bulbs as well as indoor and outdoor light fixtures used throughout residential and commercial structures in 2017.
