Welcome to Building Successful Lives Speech & Language Services. I am Tamara Anderson, an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist, education specialist, and SLP success coach who designs informal assessments and therapeutic activities for therapists to use with children. I provide speech, language, and literacy evaluations as well as therapy for toddlers, preschoolers, and school aged children. As a coach, I enjoy teaching and guiding pediatric SLPs on how to improve their work productivity and efficiency while maintaining their focus on building speech and language skills in diverse clients and learners. As an educational specialist and consultant, I promote student gains in communication, language, and literacy. I have specialized training in educational assessment, curriculum design, differentiated instruction, and special education for diverse learners. Since 2004, I have enjoyed working as a pediatric and adult speech-language pathologist. I have skillfully managed diverse caseloads and balanced work tasks in the school, early intervention, outpatient pediatric clinic, and hospital settings. I know that speech-language pathologists are smart individuals who are passionate about improving the communication and life skills of their clients. During product development, I integrate essential language/literacy skills for students’ success and methods from available research (e.g. semantic processing hierarchy, use of semantic maps, effective memory/learning strategies, narrative/language development ). Additionally, I serve as an educational consultant for organizations and educators who are dedicated to student growth in communication, language, and literacy. I also provide speech, language, and literacy evaluations for toddlers, preschoolers, and school aged children from diverse backgrounds. My passion is improving the communication, language, and literacy skills of children and adolescents. I provide consultative services to speech-language pathologists who want to improve their work efficiency and productivity. I provide guidance on best practices success tips for novice and seasoned SLPs who need fresh ideas on how to enhance their success at work in the school, clinic, and early intervention settings with culturally and linguistically diverse clients. Consultative services and professional workshops are available for organizations and educators with a desire to significantly improve these skills in young minds. I provide guidance and practical steps for systems to promote learning gains and subsequent life success. Literacy involves listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Speech-language pathologists provide evaluation and therapy for listening comprehension and speaking abilities. Educators assess and provide instruction with reading and writing. Pre-literacy skills of phonological & phonemic awareness are critical to a child's literacy success.
