About Brum Art Glass & Doors Brum Art Glass, established in Sarasota in 1984, is a family-owned and operated business. Since 1967 we have served as pioneers in the stained and leaded glass revival. Brum Art Glass had its beginning in New York City in 1967. Al Brum, its creator helped to spearhead the revival in stained glass that continues to thrive this day. Our high degree of skill, developed through decades of experience, sets us apart from other studios. Over the years, our dedication to quality has helped us build a strong reputation amongst our hundreds of satisfied customers. Aside from our glass expertise, we are also licensed window and door contractors. Al Brum was drawn to the art of stained glass by its symmetry, distinct line divisions, and variety of colors and textures. He provided numerous commissioned pieces and restorations from this first studio and in 1970, Irene Brum joined Al to head up a complete art department to support the greater demand of the business. Brum Studio commissions became widespread in the Northeast U.S. and after additional expansion to Southwest Virginia in 1980, the studio was relocated to Sarasota in 1984. Articles about the Studio have appeared in numerous publications, including “Southern Living”, “Architectural Digest” and the “New York Times”. Since 1967, Brum Art Glass has been commissioned to create window work for many area churches, businesses, and residences. Our glass artists have completed many restorations. Brum Art Glass specializes in multi-stage carved, shaded, and sculpted glass. We can take your idea or art and turn it into a custom design to help your realize the custom look your want! The glass artists at Brum Art Glass have completed many glass & crystal restorations including antique stained glass. We repair windows, shelves, lamps, decorative items, & other items.
