Broward Workshop, Inc. is a private, non-profit, non-partisan business organization established in 1981 in Broward County, Florida. It comprises the chief decision-makers from 100 of the county's major businesses and professions. The mission of Broward Workshop is to facilitate positive solutions to critical issues facing Broward County by acting as a catalyst for cooperative efforts between various sectors toward long-term common goals. The organization was founded in response to challenges identified by eighteen business leaders who sought collaborative solutions through a working retreat in Vero Beach, Florida. Since then, the group's membership has grown to include some of its key decision-makers and community leaders who are committed to making significant contributions beyond mere financial investment, dedicating their valuable time and efforts. The members of Broward Workshop represent a diverse array of backgrounds, political affiliations, and viewpoints from across Broward County. Their leadership spans small business owners, presidents of mid-sized companies, community leaders, and representatives of the largest employers in the county. All strive to voice and address the needs of all residents by fostering alliances that transcend socio-economic and political lines. The Executive Committee leads Broward Workshop with a clear vision and strategic goals set annually. Key areas of focus include Business Advocacy, where business leaders drive positive change across various critical issues affecting the region through collaboration, revitalization efforts in the Fort Lauderdale urban core, supporting education systems in conjunction with law enforcement to combat truancy, enhancing redevelopment initiatives in historic neighborhoods, supporting judicial system needs, and promoting regional issues.
