Founded in the summer of 2017 by Brother Peter 'Pio' Picciolini after having worked with other missions, Brother felt called to start the Brother Pio Charitable Foundation. Raised in the Catholic faith, Brother has always felt the love of our Lord and Savior and the Blessed Mother. This love has turned his faith into a calling as a Franciscan Brother. Feeling an attraction towards the charisms of St. Francis of Assisi and the Franciscan Order. Upon being received into the Franciscan community and starting formation Brother was named after his patron Saint and spiritual Father Saint 'Padre' Pio. Brother was drawn to Padre Pio's mission work in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy. The work of the mission will be to focus on our local, national and international communities. The roots of Christianity and the Catholic Church began when Jesus commissioned his Apostles to spread the Word of Salvation. While the Word has stayed the same over the centuries, the way to share the Word has changed. The goal of the Foundation will be to continue utilizing these and future technologies to help spread the Word. Mission Statement The Brother Pio Charitable Foundation understands that “needs” come in many different forms. They are complex and very individualized just as people’s personalities are individualized. Together we can build a civilization of truth and love to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. The South American country of Venezuela is suffering a perfect storm of a country in crisis. Political and economy turmoil have impacted the people of this nation. Corruption has become rampant in the government and business sectors. People are waiting in long lines just for essentials like milk or medicines. The Brother Pio Charitable Foundation understands that “needs” come in many different forms. They are complex and very individualized just as peoples personalities are individualized. The bad news is, we all have need of help from time to time. The good news is, we don’t all have need of help at the same time. That’s why we are all obligated as human being to help those in need when times are going good in our lives, so that later, when we find ourselves in need the goodness gets repaid. This is how we build, together with all people of good will a civilization of truth and love to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. Mission: Possible What is missionary work? Mission work is commonly seen in the works of Saint ‘Mother’ Theresa and Saint ‘Padre’ Pio. Mother Teresa dedicated herself to working with the poorest of the poor in Calcutta, India and across the world. Padre Pio's work is known for the 'Hospital of Padre Pio'; the Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza (Home for the Relief of the Suffering). This missionary work  has touched millions of lives directly or indirectly. Mission work that has had a very strong presence not only in the Catholic faith but the secular world as well. There is also the mission work that is not as recognized but just as important. It is the day-to-day missionary work of feeding the poor, helping those in need or even the simplest act of proclaiming salvation through our Savior Jesus Christ. Simple acts include donating bibles, rosaries, prayer cards and holy medallions help bring the message of our Lord to his people. Faith in Mission 2018 Scandals that have involved relief organizations, fund raising and child trafficking has left an indelible mark on relief efforts trying to help this island nation. The Brother Pio Charitable Foundation has taken these needs to task. We feel that it is a mission that can be easily fulfilled.
