Set amidst the natural beauty and charm of old Florida in the small town of Oakland is Briley Farm. An exotic variety of animals occupy the manicured farmland that borders the southern shore of Lake Apopka. The main focus of Briley Farm is Ankole-Watusi cattle, an ancient African breed known for their majestic horns. Introduced into the United States in 1960, these elegant animals have historically been known as the “Cattle of Kings”. Briley Farm is dedicated to the advancement of this exotic species and owns a sizable collection of foundation pure Watusi.
A historic turn of the century homestead is at the center of this beautiful farm. The Farm takes pride in raising the best of the breed. Attention to detail and quality maintenance is a way of life at Briley Farm, everything centers on ensuring the safety and well being of the animals. The Farm is a member of the World Watusi Association and is an advocate for the preservation of the Watusi breed..
While Briley Farm is not open to the public, we would be pleased to answer questions regarding our animals and provide additional information about the Farm. We are often asked whether a tour of the Farm is permitted. We sincerely appreciate the interest, however such requests are difficult to accommodate.
We support the compassionate work of the Zebra Foundation for Youth, Inc. and, on occasion, will consider providing a private tour of Briley Farm upon a donation to the Foundation.
