Though relatively small, clocking in at 2.6 acres, this botanic wonderland recently underwent a $1.2 million landscape renovation and is now known as a stunning spot to stop. The garden showcases native Floridian plants and trees, a Japanese garden and water gardens as well as a large pond and a Great Lawn for social events. Best of all? Admission is free. This ballet company is widely known as one of the most respected companies in the U.S. Relying mainly on the works of George Balanchine, it nonetheless visits the artistry of many other notable choreographers and performs many traditional classics to the delight of audiences. The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater has been compared to a cat with several lives. Once home of The Jackie Gleason Show, the theater was supposed to be demolished and replaced with a hotel when the adjoining convention center was remodeled. It’s still standing, though, and today hosts live concerts, productions and other special events.
