Receiving an Honorable Discharge after 15½ years of active duty as a Disabled Veteran, John entered civilian employment in 1990 as a National Board Commissioned Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector with Lumberman’s Mutual Insurance (Kemper National Insurance), where he served as an Authorized Inspector and Authorized Inspector Supervisor for six years, and a Staff Technical Consultant for 2 years. He joined the Codes and Standards Technical Staff of HSB Global Standards as a Senior Code Consultant in July 1998, providing Codes and Standards technical support to Authorized Inspectors, Authorized Inspector Supervisors, and ASME Code Manufacturers around the world for over 10 years, focusing on Non-Nuclear ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes and the National Board Inspection Code. John also served HSB as an Authorized Inspector Supervisor with responsibility over 14 Inspectors and 130 clients in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina winning awards for revenue and service quality excellence. In 2001, John recognized a need for economical and professional engineering design and consulting services, and founded a consulting business previously operating under the names Code Design and JMM Code Design. Under the current name Boiler Code Tech, LLC; John and his staff providing responsive, professional engineering consulting services to a wide variety of ASME Code pressure equipment manufacturers.
